A Different Kind of Energy...

I don’t know about you, but every year around this time something shifts for me.

The light changes, the air feels warmer and I start feeling more inspired... more motivated.

Recently, I started practicing qigong in the mornings, and it’s been such a gift. The slow, intentional movement, the breathing, and simply knowing I’m doing something truly supportive for my whole body feels grounding.

At this stage of my life, I chose qigong because I’m not particularly drawn to yoga, but I do know I benefit from tuning into my body each morning... gently activating my lymph, supporting circulation, and waking up my organs and systems in a mindful way.  It really is a wonderful “whole body” practice.

And honestly, gone are the days of intense cardio and pushing myself just to feel accomplished.  Honoring where I’m at in this stage of life feels really good.  Instead of forcing intensity, I’m connecting to a steadier sense of strength... the kind that comes from alignment, not exhaustion.  It feels sustainable for me.  I imagine this is called "wisdom."

That shift in how I move my body is influencing how I approach everything else.

I’ve been thinking about new skincare creations... lighter formulations, different botanical infusions, products that feel supportive but not heavy.  My skin changes with the seasons, and so do I.  What worked in the heart of winter doesn’t always make sense as the light returns... although, I have to say, tallow feels good all year round.

If you’ve been feeling that quiet motivation returning, maybe it’s just the season doing what it does best --  reminding us that renewal doesn’t have to be dramatic.  Sometimes it’s simply choosing to move in a way that feels right.

For now, I’m starting my mornings slowly, paying attention to what inspires me, and allowing this next chapter in my body, in my work, and in my creativity to unfold naturally.

And that feels like more than enough. :)
