Embracing Winter: Aligning with Nature’s Rhythms for Deep Renewal...

As the days grow shorter and the air turns colder, nature invites us to slow down.

Winter is not a season to resist... it’s a time for rest, reflection, and renewal.  In circadian biology, this season holds a special purpose: to align our inner rhythms with the quieter, restorative energy of the Earth.

When we live seasonally, we work with nature instead of against it.  Just as plants retreat into their roots, our bodies naturally crave more sleep, warmth, and nourishment during the darker months.  By honoring this rhythm, we allow our mitochondria (the energy powerhouses within each cell) to restore and repair.

Morning sunlight is your most powerful signal to set your circadian clock.  Even just 10 minutes outdoors helps your body know what it needs to do to keep you healthy and functioning optimally.  If the days are cloudy, rainy or snowy, bundle up and step outside anyway... your eyes and skin still receive the message.  Make sure you do not wear contacts or glasses.  Also, face east at sunrise even if you do not see the sun.  You will still get all the healthy frequencies.

Winter calls for grounding foods... roots, squashes, stews, and healthy fats.  These foods not only keep you warm but also stabilize your energy.

Nature is not lazy in winter... it's regenerating.  Allow yourself early bedtimes, slower mornings, and cozy evenings without feeling you "should" be doing more.  This is your time to fill your own cup.

Your skin, like the rest of your body, mirrors your environment.  Cold air and dry heat can strip it of moisture, which is why tallow-based skincare shines in winter.  Our Tallow Whips replenish the skin’s natural barrier, restoring softness and glow without synthetic ingredients.

When we listen to the rhythms of the Earth, we rediscover balance.  Winter isn’t meant to be endured but "felt."   By honoring the darker days, you prepare your body and spirit for the brighter seasons ahead.

So, this winter, lean into nature’s wisdom.  Step outside in the morning light, rest deeply, eat seasonally, and nourish your skin with ingredients that honor both your biology and the planet.
