Every January, the world tells us to start over. To make resolutions. To fix ourselves. To do more, be more, achieve more.
But what if this year, you didn’t need another resolution? What if what you really need is a new rhythm?
Resolutions come from a place of willpower and willpower isn't sustainable.
When our energy is low, when our sleep is disrupted, when our body is out of sync, even the strongest resolve fades.
The truth is... it’s hard to “improve” ourselves when we’re fighting against our biology.
We live in a world that constantly pulls us out of alignment... bright screens at night, artificial light in the morning, processed foods, constant stimulation, and stress that never quite switches off. These environmental stressors disrupt our natural rhythm and confuse the very clock that governs our hormones, metabolism, energy, and mood: the master clock behind our retina called the Suprachiasmatic Nucleus or SCN for short. This clock is responsible for setting our circadian rhythm when we "see" the sunrise.
Maybe this year isn’t about doing more but about unlearning what hasn’t been serving you. Unlearning the idea that health is about restriction; Unlearning that rest is laziness;
Unlearning that healing has to be complicated.
When we rise with the sun, step into morning light, eat with the day’s rhythm, and rest in darkness, our body begins to remember what wellness feels like. We don’t have to force change; we simply create the environment where balance can return.
This year, instead of resolving to change yourself, choose to reconnect with yourself.
Because once your body’s rhythm aligns with nature’s, everything else begins to fall into place effortlessly.
